My connection sounds better since 1-2 week. I have installed a "tore ferrique" on the phonebox cable.
tore ferrique is a magnet u can find it in a old radio tuner.

speed of connection (download or upload) is not linked to the ping.
You can have a connection of 100Mb and a ping of 100ms.
You can have a connection of 128kb and a ping of 50ms.

Ping depends of how many nodes between you and a server for example.
Try the speed test with a server in Taiwan : connection will be sensible same but ping will be very high due to the distance to connect it and the several telecom nodes you have to passed.

If you want a better ping, you have to find an internet provider who can propose to you "fastpath system".

You want my opinion about ping : see all players with bad ping => they are mag hunters. Lag compensation of servers is in favor of high ping players. I'm very frustated many times : i die "behind corners" with that kind of players. The best ping for playing is 30-40.
Yeterday it's so funny : I were spectating vercetti ... Vercetti has a ping of 70 - 80. He hits me ALLWAYS with HS even if move as hell and ... he's unable to hit static "no run keys" noobs ! I can't hit him because he's laggy ... if i kill him it's only when he doesn't see me (shoot in back).
This game sucks in my opinion. Sometimes makes me very frustated.Sorry for being angry sometimes Vercetti or Federalic. One day i will show u what i see with a recording... and u will see if u can accept that
but it's another problem...

in game im always between 40 and 50 of latence.

I changed my firewall from Zone Alarm to Look'n Stop.
The new one is a little bit more hard to set up ... but I think i reduce loss and the shitty lag.

i use sygate personal firewall ...

On ours, were u laggy?

Maybe you don't see me laggy but i have ALWAYS, no aim, no speed balls
and even nade cooking work a 50%...

cmd setting is perhaps too high.

Server 2 crashes every 5 minutes for me too and between each map on server 2. I think the plugin Eventscript is the principal suspect. I will try to solve that when i can.

Yes pub2 is unplayable, crash every 2 minutes and hitregs are fucked up !

I have tryed with rate 30000 too...

-Pentium 4 2.8 GHz
-Sapphire X800GT ATI Radeon 256 Mo
