I have a friend now who is a post-doc in my university. It so happens that his office is on the 11th floor of our tallest building right under an old meteorological glass booth. They literally have a spiral staircase in the middle of the office that leads to this aiport control room looking booth. Went up there on tuesday to take some pictures of the view on the university and London in general. Here is one really nice HDR i made from that so far:


You see the queen's tower, which sits in the middle of the University, The tower sticking out behind and to the right of it is either Victoria and Albert Museum, or the top of the Natural History museum.. Actually, Natural History museum is on the very right of the picture with the small white vapour cloud next to it, thats one of its towers.
Its about 5pm, 5:20 or so, so the sun just set and I was watching the whole place light up to what you see on the picture. So full of life:)
I believe on the very far far near the horizon, there are 2 red glowing pipes and to the left of them in the center there are 4 white-blue pipes - thats Battersea Powerstation, as far as I can imagine. The London Eye is actually behind the building on the very left, you can only see the edge of it at most from inside the booth so I didnt take a picture of it.
