Ok white tower was a pawn which was between black king and the white bishop. in the position of the white tower there was a black piece and the white pawn moved sideways capturing it, and became a tower. [could have become a queen, bishop or horse also]

now an easy one:

A bottle of wine costs 10€.
The wine itself costs 9€ more than the bottle.
Who much costs the bottle? (without the wine)

Posted: Fri Apr 13, 2007 12:05 pm
by Cynyx
50 cents, 0.5 euro

because :

v as vine price
b as bottle price

from the 2 sentences, we have :

v+b = 10 (1)
v-b= 9 (2)

(1)-(2) = 2b = 1
so b = 1/2 = 0.5
