dm_servus | Map by Pig Popper

Hi all, This is my 2nd map I made for the hl2dmU comp,
I was kinda focusing on fluidity in this map, action takes
place around a central area with corridors leading off
to either lower or upper levels that reconnect back.

Check the last few pics for some special areas of interest in this map..

Sounds a nice map. Need to try it.

Only one 357 weapon for 16 players ? Is it enough ?

hi nice post good pics good info but as cynyx said 1 mag :upset: .
looks like alot of work went in to ur map so ill have a look :D

it is if your the 1 with it :-P

but a good point, I balanced this for 1v1 / 4v4 play so controlling certain weapons/areas would be part of the tactics, ffa may need an extra mag etc, please let me know if you test this on your server, i've added it to our own ffa although thats only 8 slots

actually it might not be such an issue, the magnum is on top of that central structure, well in the open and it constitutes a pass through for the top level and access to the rpg... :wink:

The design is clearly good, but i have to agree with cynyx about magnum;

well, if the game is in 1v1 it's not a problem and even a good idea, but if their is 8 player on it then if my analyse is still correct, people will use nade as hell, shotguner will finish your 16hp before you get a weapon :( .

In a tactic look, it's definitly good, but in a casual game look, i didn't liked that (you know, when i saw such a map loading i was "oh crap").

But i wasn't a specialy skilled player, people might have a different look.

After a run (alone) it sounds really to be a nice "classical" map.

Design is really nice.

The only one mag is perhaps good for gameplay in fact ...
Main action will be this central room, and because there are several floors, intense action should be nice.

As allways with Pig Popper, not a lot of physical props, but many corridors so I'm sure it's not a good idea to add new ones.

I hate to spawn without weapons near me, and most of spawn points u are not really near weapons in my opinion. This will may increase spawnkills.

Need to be tested with some players now, for some action :)

The design is wery good for a classical map, realy nice work Popper. The best i saw whas this kind of teleporter, this hole with the screen in it, love this idea :metal:

BTW i have to agree cynyx, sich less weapons for 16 player? :upset:
