Dongeon master ... Not really a FPS, but more a RPG ... but I think it was the first game i have played where u have the view of the hero (1987 at least 5 years before Wolfenstein 3D :))

and just before wolf, Hovertank 3D and Catacomb 3D (from Carmack too :)):

In fact, this game was awesome ... compared to some new games using really high-end technologies but with a boring gameplay. For example, Land of Lore 3, full 3D engine was boring compared to land of lore 1 !

Dandy Dungeon ?

emulator : http://atari800.sourceforge.net/
and the rom : http://www.vintagecomputing.com/wp-cont ... ungeon.zip

but in my opinion, keep the memory of a good game if u have played it in past and don't play it now :)

EDIT : i read the word "tank" after ... so it's certainly not dandy dungeon ... I dunno a game called dandy with tanks. which hardware u played this game ? Commodore 64 perhaps ?

Commodore 64 ... remember me Jeff Minter, a great coder on this support. This guy was under acid i suppose.

Check this game from him on Atari ST : Llamatron. The only game where u are a lama, where u need to kill coca cola cans and save goats ... lmao.

commodore 64 was a great gaming machine too :

Internationnal Karate + on Commodore 64

First game i have ever played was this one:

CHIPS CHALLENGE

I played the whole game, over 140 levels :metal:

PS: i always have this game, burned on a floppy disk xD

EDIT: of course that is a newer version, i found out that theres an older one, of 1989 by atari

Wikipedia wrote: The game consists of a series of 148 two-dimensional levels (149 in Microsoft's version) which feature the player character, Nerdy Chip McCallahan,[3] often called just Chip, and various game elements such as computer chips, buttons, locked doors and lethal monsters. Gameplay involves using arrow keys, directional pad or mouse to move Chip about each of the levels in turn, collecting enough chips to open the chip socket at the end of each level, get to the exit, and move onto the next level. Levels can be skipped by entering an appropriate four-letter non-case-sensitive password. For the PC versions, game progress is automatically saved. On the Windows version of the game, the passwords can easily be cracked, thus making it a simple matter to skip levels without playing; if one is having a lot of trouble with a level, the game allows the player to skip to the next level. The Microsoft version has another, hidden, option, "Ignore Passwords", that appears in the Game menu when one of several key combinations is pressed, including Control-D. In the Lynx version of the game, entering the password "MAND" gives the player access to an Easter egg: a Mandelbrot set and a Julia set fractal plotter.[4] Progress is not just measured in terms of completed levels but also in terms of the player's score, which is a sum of the scores obtained on each level. Level scores for timed levels can be improved by completion in less time than previously, and scores on all levels can be improved by using fewer attempts to complete the level.

That was my first game and at the same time my first "cheat" XDDD

Looking between the game files i found out how to get the secret codes to unlock each level :metal: my father didnt believed it... of course not... i was 6 years old.... :spy:
