to remove the background you need to create an image with a transparent background (default is white), but how to make it appear transparent in game - that's a real question .... :?:

I think it has to be a tga with a tick for "transparent background"

You need a TGA file or PNG (donno if the second one works)

The best way is to work directly on the TGA with transparent BG because if you paste a JPG as a new layer on the TGA and then you delete the white BG maybe it doesnt works :(

ok i've made a little test:
i took a standard jpeg foto and made a tga image with a transparent background out of it, this is how it's supposed to look:

Image

but this is how it appears in game:

Image

as you can see, the backround is white, not transparent...

i've uploaded both files (.tga and .psd) so you can take a look at them:

tga version: ftp.emc2-clan.com/images_temp/spray_test.tga
psd version: ftp.emc2-clan.com/images_temp/test-spray.psd

it's white because in ur picture u have a white background !!!!!

Image

i put the right version on same directory on the ftp ...

http://ftp.emc2-clan.com/ressources/ima ... hecked.tga

HOW ?

1 - use ur favorite editing picture tool or a free one : paintNET : http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Pa ... 96481993/1

2 - open ur image
Image

3 - use magical tool, put a low tolerance, and select white background
Image

4 - delete selected area :
Image

as u can see, background is not white, but really transparent. (grey and white square) ... save it as TGA 32 bits without rle compression and u've got it.

hm it seems that when i convert the image to tga it automatically makes the background white  how did you make it stay transparent after saving the image, Cynyx? ...
edit:
ok i see your description now
