HI AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL

I'm tryna play HL2DM again since a few months (since i have my new PC) but every time i try to start a HL graphic engine based game (or Source) i become an error that says that can't load FileSystem_steam.dll

A whole afternoon Cynyx and i tried a lot of solutions but any thing solved my issue. So, if some one of you have an idea how to solve that please post it here, i'll be very pleased of your help.

I MISS YOU GUYS !!!!!

THX A LOT :D

Hi DHR_000x,

Did you tried to delete the contents of E:\Steam\SteamApps\yourname\half-life 2\bin
:?:

Welcome Back !! :D

Jep :(

I tried:

-Reinstall all
-Delete folders like "bin"
-Delete some specific files like the FileSystem_steam.dll or Steam.dll
-I did every thing to try that steam downloads automaticly the new and working file
-I became the FileSystem_steam.dll file from other players that can play HL2
-I configured all about Firewalls and security on my PC so that anything blocks Steam.

I'll be happy to hear some more suggestions before i put Win. XP on this pc just to play on steam. Yeah, I know, Vista craps, you are right, but on the Orange Box system requirements says that it works on Vista and it works, because i have friends that play it on Vista, so the problem isn't it.

Have a nice Wkend. Bye 8)

About deleting files/folders so that steam redownload that doesn't seems to work because the files reappear, those are repasted on the right place until i deleted them (shift+delete).

I think that the first thing i'll do is uninstall all about steam, install it again and the try one by one again all yor suggestions.

THX

I heared if u copy the filesystem_steam.dll
from
Valve\Steam\bin
into
Valve\Steam\SteamApps\[user]\half-life 2\bin
it started working again, with some users... but i haven't try :?

maybe try to delete clientRegistry.blob to get a new update.
(close steam first^^)

or
http://www.boxofsand.com/projects/validate/

last resort:

Code: Select all

format C:
huhu

GL :?

That you know it, i've got the same problem with the games that work under HL1 like CS 1.6 CS:CZ or Opposing forces. So i'm starting to think that the problem haven't nothing to do with my files. Maybe the rpoblem is my Gcard :(

Any one is playing HL or HL2 witha nVidia 8k ??

try to delete the file suspected, and to delete it : half-life 2 deathmatch.gcf from your C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam\steamapps

all files deleted are coming back from this half-life 2 deathmatch.gcf.
Maybe it is the problem.

The only think you could do by doing this is taking risk of destroying your ddr2. Generally, when ddr ram is stuck, computer can't start, it turn on and immediatly stop. If you still can run windows and other software, be sure that problem doesn't come from memory!!

Hmmmmm

1. I think i tried downloading the games from steam but i'll try it again
2. Delete gcard drivers: done.
3. Delete DX10: What? Why? xD
4. About the ram... ok, maybe theres a truble with ddr2 but changing the slots will not solve my issue....
5. Windows is on the last stand

Thx you all for help me ^^

The best solution in my opinion too! Morerover, he will gain power using xp instead of vista!! just about memory, vista take about 800-1024Mb, and xp only take 200Mb

VISTA Stands for "Virus Inside, Switch To Apple"

Steam works on Apple?? :P

Shit...

(Trauma what do you mean with "And hit you so fast when your blood spilled it was still blue". Some people say that so far our blood is in our body it is blue, but why it becomes red? I heard because the oxygen... bullshit, blood contains all the time oxygen, so it should be red xD)

When i start my pc, only vista needs about 475Mb + MSN + WMP + IExpl. it becomes 650-700MB normaly :S

haha, off topic, sorry
actually you are right, blood is red and not blue, it's a stuff about hemoglobyn who can be red, or purple related to the oxygen/ CO2 on it, i think we see the blood blue in our arms because of our blood vessel constitution but in fact i don't know, we have to ask lyrical G who is our emc2 medical student...... and "And hit you so fast when your blood spilled it was still blue" is just a useless rhyme with "kill you".. arrgh i think i will remove this stuff
