Unreal Tournament 3

Post by anti fougere »

I think I don't have to present Unreal Tournament! Everyone as played at least one time in his live

What's the main difference between UT3 and the previous versions?
- Awesome level of details;
- There is a new warfafe mod : the 2 team have the destroy the enemys base. But before they have to control ome strategic points on the map. Teamwork is quite important;
- DM,TDM and CTF are still in the game with many mods like instagib;

Some other good points :
- No lags and no bugs;
- The game is new so epic is stil correcting the game and updating it;
- Ps3 players are coming to play with us :p (keyboard+mouse vs pads);
- You can run it on linux :mrgreen:;
- I can use UT world editor ^^.

Now bad points :
- The community of gamer in this game is small and there are not many servers but it will certainly increase;
- When you play alone, online gaming isn't much different than playing with bot's :(. Nobody use ingame chat No hello,bye,gg,n1...;
- Some good mods from UT2004 and UT have disapeared;
- Need good computer(not the best one's but core 2 duo and geforce 8 series are welcome :D.

No lags and no bugs;
maybe because you don't very know the game... but effectivly this is a recent game so developper update it :)

Need good computer
not, this game is very optimized and you can run it on crapy pc (I haave tested on mine Barton 2800+ + 7600Gs) and he run perfectly without cfg low fps.

I'm curious to know if it rocks really cause i have seen a trailer and it
seems to be really a dark game and my first feeling is that is a bit messy..

got this game 3 weeks ago, i work witha guy who plays it at pro level so he suggested i buy it, as being a very experienced Fast FPS player i thought what the hey ill buy it..

a few tips for you:

jump

hold fire.

the game is boring :P you can wall dodge etc i can move extremely fast but at the end i see my self jsut jumping around tapping/holding fire, no real aim needed. my fav wep is the sniper for HS but jump and hold fire + point .
Grahpics are good ofc, everything very high looks amazing. but its like having PacMan with super cool graphics, no need.

to get a clan match or 2v2 3v3 etc you need to have IRC and the right people such as i used we played alot of pro matches was good but just repetetive. a few servers with people playing so its never empty. i dont expect it to get bigger because it has just come otu for Xbox360 and alot of people 80% i speak to are taking it back as its shit :P

ill stick to HL2dm For now, well when i start playing it again that is. :spy:

But dont go off my words just try it if u like, ik loved UT2004 / Quake3. this is not much like it.

I dont like the classical close combat matches, but the ones with wehicles and planes rock, where you have to destroy the enemys reactor, very strategical and ever funny :) ^_^

After playing near 15 hours, now i can share my opinion ...
All speaking of Anti fougere in the first post are true...

Graphics are really good, better than HL2DM, new techno. Really nice, and fps is not bad with my average hardware configuration. Note, this game doesn't compensate your ping as HL2DM. If u have a bad ping (more than 50), u can't hit with precision a player.

For the moment i played only DM and TDM. OMG u die a lot in that game. Get a kpd of 2 is really hard. A lot of spam, a lot of spawnkills ... so the gameplay is fast... even if in my opinion movements are slower than HL2DM.

If you have played another UT, u will not be lost. Same map, near same weapons...etc.

Instagibt is allways really funny.

Also, everybody says VAC is shit, but i have seen more cheaters in 4 days in UT3 than in 2 years in HL2DM ! No cheats protection.

If other members want to play it :
- I can open a basic UT3 server. (if i close temporaly some of our HL2M servers private, pub3 and coop server)...
- we can make a real forum in our forum.
- in my opinion, it can be a way to bring new people in our community

good idea for community yes, but as i talked to my friend who is a pro palyer. Public servers are a waste of money, clan matches opporate via quakenet etc and only 2v2 3v3 servers are ever used msot sure 5v5 where as PUBLIC servers can have 10v10 etc pro players dont often use these.

to havea server i wud sugest a 3v3 - 5v5 but no bigger. as my friend says he also play alot of 1V1.

a section on the forum sure, e=mc2 in our names is good also. but server not needed tbh. as people always use small ones for V shrot period and theres about 600 servers already tehre only about 10-15 servers in use.

dont remove the coop server i love coop!

I am tempted to try ..

In fact, the thing that bothers me a bit is the cheaters, it must be frustrating. :scared:
and also the ambience of the game.

You need really a powerful pc? Otherwise it will be hot for me.
