[HL2DM] About spawn protection

God i hate to be spawn killed ...
but i hate more be kiled by spawn protected players. I see more and more players prepare their weapon and/or shoot during spawn protection. Really unfair because u can't shoot them.

I begin to know why some admins don't want spawn protection of their server (Osiris from TSGK for example...)

So i launch a poll to have your opinion about removing spawn protection.

I do not like either that they kill to me thus, but for my it is worse when nothing else to appear in the game she kills to me. :evil:

There is a better Way. The Spawnprotection Plugin can be edited so, that the protected payers cant look around with the Mouse (and not aim in follow of that) so long they have not use the Moving-Keys and lost the Protection.

This is what the Help-File says:

Installation
------------
Windows; put sc_protect.dll and sc_protect.vdf into addons.
Linux; put sc_protect_i486.so and sc_protect.vdf into addons.
If there is no addons catalog under hl2mp, just create it.

Check http://www.esteticas.se/catman.php for new versions.

Known buggs;
- in some situtations, looking up or down during chat protection
will slowly cycle through protection/unprotection
solution: look stright at the wall.

thanks ... i will try ... but i'm not sure to have this version ... and also ... i want a spawn protection removing at any action of a player : move mouse, change weapon.

It removes Mousemoving. Who cares what Weapon he hold so long he only can look straight forward.

and what about moves for players who play directly when spawn ... i think my first move it's mouse move to gain speed /

Well, i never said i could heal AIDS or something like that... If you still feel uncomfortable with this - and more then without the whole Spawnprotection - and all have to deal with the Spawnkill Problem again instead of a handfull Situations when Players abuse the Spawnprotection and fire 1 single shot out of it...

To your movement Problem. Press W for 1 Microsecond before you start up with your Bunnyhop Orgy and ok. Not a big Problem overall i think - not half as big then Spawnkills in my personal View.

There are much more Spawnkillers then Guys who use to fire 1 Shot out of Spawnprotection.

Actual you just cant have all at the same time...

You must deal with:
A few Players who abuse the Spawnprotection...
or
A lot Spawnkills in Future again
or
your Bunnyhop Problem.

removing chat protection moving : default 0.

hmmm when i read again this help, i see it's not that i want. For the moment this CVAR (to 0) prevents a player to look around him when he's on chat protection (after a wall watching). I really not want to set this value to 1 ! I don't want to add possibility to moving for player under chat protection.

You understand this false...

Actual (with 0) they can look around + aim in Chat-Protection.

Set it to 1 and there Mouse frozen so long they are protected.

no u can't in chat protection on E=mc² servers. if u stop to watch the wall (move mouse) ur chat protection is removed.
chat protection is different than Spawn protection ... it's for spawn protection i want eventually this function...

Hi!
I don't love to be killed by spawn protected players :) but... spawn protection is good. And very good in orgy map with spawn in the battlefield like... dm_angar, dm_orgy and others...! So I vote no.
Cynyx if you modify this thing, it's better but i prefer take the risk of being aimed by protected player that being spawn killed strictly :D

Yep, Trauma is exactly right. The actual Spawnprotection is far away from being perfect but however much better then no Spawnprotection.

Maybe we will become an Update like - blocked Mousekeys while protected - sometime later.

Yeah, and I kind of voted wrong:).. I voted "Yes, on the public server", i thought the quetsion was DO YOU WANT SPWAN PROTECTION, when it is, in fact, Do you want it REMOVED:).. so, I DO like the spawnprotection and prefer it to stay on the public server

hm, no other choice....
I don't like being spawnkilled so spawnprotection is fine. It's true that some people wait, while they respawn, when you are in front of them and immediatly after that you turn, they kill you in the back. I just think they are just piece of shit and stupid. I try to avoid to do it and I get more fun with it anyway. I can remember that before I said every minuts "shitty spawnkiller", "thx for spawnkill" or also "sry spawnkill".... I was always fed up with that. So DON'T REMOVE SPAWNPROTECTION PLEASE!!!!! at least on public server.
